How to be led by the Spirit daily

Well, today has been one of those busy days that I didn’t really do anything. Ever have one of those? Yesterday I got all the laundry done. The dishes were done last evening (even though a few have accumulated throughout the day) and the pickup was done yesterday evening. My children would have strewn again, but we have been visiting with my mom and my grandmother today. I also made a quick trip (sans kids) into town to pick up a few Easter goodies. I plan to made Rice Krispy Bird’s Nests with the kids (Here is a picture—scroll down until you see, “Nesting”) so I picked up a few nice goodies for that! :)

Today as I was rearranging a few of my cookbooks, I found a piece of paper where I had sloppily copied down an inspiration from the Lord. I love, love and SO don’t deserve the Spirit to speak to me, but sometimes He does, and I try to always jot down what He places on my heart.

Don’t have time for a long post today (is anyone reading, anyway? No comments? Please, I’d love to hear from you!) as we are in Revival this week and it is nearing the crunch time (you know when you are trying to cook supper, get baths, pick up before the Hubs gets home, etc…). Thought I’d share…..

How to be led by the Spirit Daily

1. First of all, realize that you NEED Him to do even the most minute task. (That was not on my list, it just came to me)

2. Put God FIRST (early mornings, anyone?) each day.

3. ASK Him for His Spirit to guide you.

4. Walk in obedience (do what He tells you to do—that’s how you remain in fellowship with Him).

5. Surrender all to the Spirit (realize without Him you are nothing—if you are a mom, it doesn’t take long to figure this out).

6. Rely on God in times of need.

If you walk in the Spirit, you will NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

  1. You have been sharing some wonderful thoughts and inspiration! Thank you!

I know what you mean about those days where not much gets done. We have had sick little ones here the past few weeks, and it is so hard to be productive when you've been awakened in the night several times. :)

I'm really thinking about the need to get up earlier. It is so hard for me, now that I'm a mother and regularly up at night. But I so need that time with the Lord before the children are awake.

I pray your time at Revival is a blessing to you and your family!

  2. I too have been enjoying your 'sermons' ;). I find that getting up early to meet with God is mandatory for me. I mean, an essential MUST. If not, I am a complete and utter failure. Dramatic, I know, but it's the honest truth.
I must fill my pool, so to speak, first thing so I can pour out of myself to those around me. It's my lifeline.
